API Terms of Service

By using the Justin.tv API you agree to the following terms of service.


1. User data.

You won't cache Justin.tv user data for users not created by your application for more than 24 hours.


2. Click throughs.

You won't try to obstruct the click through to the channel page or the ads on the API viewer.


3. Branding.

The Justin.tv logo will be displayed in the player or in the application. You won't put the names or logos for competitive streaming services on top of the Justin.tv viewer or broadcaster.


4. Logo.

You won't obscure the logo on the Justin.tv viewer or broadcaster.


5. Official endorsement.

You can't claim to be officially endorsed by Justin.tv, part of Justin.tv, or to represent Justin.tv.


6. Rate limits.

You will only develop one application per application key. You won't make multiple keys for a single application, or try to circumvent our rate limits.


7. Banning.

You will delete all Justin.tv user data if you are banned or your application is shut down.


8. Third parties.

You will not transfer data from us to a third party unless you have explicit written Justin.tv consent.


9. Resale.

You will not sell, transfer, or sublicense our code, APIs, or tools to anyone.


10. Press releases.

Justin.tv may issue press releases discussing any applicaitons built on our platform.


11. Competitive applications.

Justin.tv may create applications that offer similar features and services to, or otherwise compete with, your application.

You will comply with all applicable laws. In particular you will (if applicable):

Although we have no current plans to charge for basic access to the API, we do not guarantee that the API will always be free.
